Just saw this.
If you are a Mac Pro user this will interest you. Right now I use up all my internal MacPro bays for single 3.5” SATA drives ranging from 500GB to 1.5TB. A couple 1TB drives are mated to make a Mirrored RAID, my boot drive is 500GB and another (which just died) is normally something I just pull in and out. Aside from that I have my travel drives which are 3 external FW800/400/USB2 drives. 2 of them Seagates inside OWC enclosures. Had these 2 for the longest with no problems. And the newest one is a straight-up 500GB G-Drive (Hitachi) combo. I also use one of these for all my archives.
What I like about this new enclosure though is the ability to swap it internally or use it externally and it still be a really really portable RAID 0 configured drive. Add to that the fact it is a RAID that takes up only 1 internal bay…. win.
The enclosure only cost $147
