Apple Magic Trackpad
So the other day I picked up one of these:
And right away started using it like this instead of putting it off to the right like I would a mouse. Makes sense right? It works great like this, in fact I started scheming a case to put and keep this set-up as so.
So far here is what I’ve found…
- Using it like this is great, no doubt, because it is very similar in set-up to my laptop.
- For editing in FCP it is wonderful because click and hunt less, meaning most of the built-in gestures (pinch to zoom, 2 finger drag or 3 finger drag for navigation) speed things up, it is slicker more streamlined.
- Love the size.
- Love the build quality.
- Using it in Color.app is horrible though. For me the touch sensitivity is to great that increments get moved way too much. I kept reaching for my mouse to make minor adjustments, and so I did that. I guess depending on what you might be working in you might need the combination of AMTrackpad and a traditional scroll mouse.
So I’m gonna put this through its paces a little more this week and see how it goes.
